| Head Instructor: Sensei LaValle Bullard-Muhammad 3rd Dan Mr. Bullard-Muhammad initially started his training in 1984 at the age of 14 years old under Senior Master Robert Temple and Robert Humphrey (R.I.P.) at the famous 109th Street school in South Los Angeles. He trained with Mr. Temple for a year and a half, but due to transportation and other reasons he had to discontinue his training. In 1987 he resumed his training again under some other famous BKF fighters Mr. Micheal Holmes, Ms. Sharon Floyd and Mr. Anthony Bell in the backyard of Mr. Bullard-Muhammad's mother house. In February 1988 Mr. Bullard-Muhammad was shot twice once in the back of the head and the other in the right forearm, he was grazed in his head and left with several (recent xrays show) shotgun buck shots still in his skull, and shattered bones in his forearm. This event interrupted his training once again and for the next few years left him confused and lost in the street life of Los Angeles. In 1991 Mr. Bullard-Muhammad was reawakened when he joined the Nation of Islam and started training under Senior Grandmaster Steve (Sanders) Muhammad and for the next two years remained under his training. He left the Nation of Islam and again stopped his training, but this time to go back and further his education. In 1997 while working at Dorsey High School Mr. Bullard-Muhammad was once again reunited with Mr. Robert Temple and has been training with him ever since and finally received his Black Belt in February of 2003, 2nd Dan in 2006 and 3rd Dan 2008. Mr. Bullard-Muhammad taught for Mr. Temple as a Brown Belt at the Santa Monica Police Athletic League. In 2002 he was given the duties of running his own studio in the City of Pomona for The Black Karate Federation, by Senior Grandmaster Donnie Williams and Senior Master Robert Temple. Mr. Bullard-Muhammad has been training young BKF Warriors ever since. |
